Our Story

Welcome to Dirt Road Outpost! I’m glad you’re here.

I’ve worked in the oilfield for almost seven years here in West Texas—starting as a wireline driver and hand, and now working as a gyro engineer. My work takes me to different locations every day, and every site has something different to see—from drilling rigs and production equipment to trucks, forklifts, and pulling units.

When I come home, my wife often asks what I did that day. Friends who work outside the industry ask about my job, too. I always enjoy explaining it, but finding the words to describe the equipment and how everything works together isn’t always easy.

That’s where the idea for Dirt Road Outpost began.

Bringing the Job Site Home

I wanted to bring a small piece of that world home—something you could hold, build, demonstrate, and share with your family. Here in West Texas, so many people work around heavy equipment, and I wanted a store that truly reflects those interests and the work we do every day.
